Baby Fashion Finds for Under $10!

I'm definitely one for a sweet deal on baby clothes for a few reasons.   One being that I know the likelihood of the item getting covered in some sort of bodily fluid is HIGH.  Let's not kid ourselves, here.  Two is, of course, that they grow out of them so quickly!  Camden is already in size 6 month clothes.  He's three months old.  Enough said.  And three being that you can find so many cute things for great prices!   All of the items below are $10 or below! They are extremely affordable, just adorable, and you won't feel too bad if it doesn't last longer than a few months.

Baby's First Roadtrip

This past weekend our little family set out on our first road trip together, determined to find a home for us to live in while in North Carolina.  I was nervous, of course, to take a less than three month old on a five hour car ride (one direction) and then tote him along to multiple appointments, only to make that long drive home a few days later.   To all of our surprise, it ended up going extremely well! Camden did fantastically and we found our home!  A little duplex with hard wood floors, surrounded by dense trees in the small town of Mebane, North Carolina.  To say we are excited is an understatement.   What a change of pace North Carolina is from Maryland.  The homes are spaced much further apart, everyone seems to move a little slower, the small little towns are surrounded by forests and farms, and there are very few homes that don't have a large front porch with adorable rocking chairs and hanging planters.  The restaurant selection isn't huge.  Biscuitville, Waffle House, Bojangles, and Cracker Barrel were plentiful. No, I'm not kidding, Biscuitville is a real thing.  Oh yeah, and everyone addresses you as ma'am or sir with a southern accent.  It's adorable.    We offset the hours of driving and home appointments with lots of naps and room service in our hotel room in Raleigh.  It was so nice to just relax and not have to worry about laundry or cooking or cleaning! On our way home from North Carolina we decided to swing by Washington D.C. to see the tail end of the peak season of the Cherry Blossom Festival.  It was so beautiful, I can't really describe it and our photos definitely do it no justice.  Cam was slathered in sunscreen but somehow I was still psychotically nervous about him getting sunburned (#newmomprobs) so we only saw a tiny portion of the blossoms but boy, was it beautiful.   Here are a few photos of our trip according to my iPhone.  What would I do without the thing... seriously, though?

The Prettiest Nail Color You Ever Did See...

Attention everyone.  Your search for the perfect spring nail color is over.   The name of the color is "find me an oasis" by Essie and it will change your nail game...forever.

 I'm being dramatic for a reason, I promise.  The first time I put it on, it immediately reminded me of Lupita Nyong'o's incredible Prada dress she wore to the Academy Awards this year.  And let's be honest... who doesn't want to feel like Lupita Nyong'o?

Our Easter Home

Easter is definitely one of my favorite holidays, second only to Christmas.  I love a Christ-centered holiday and I also love that it always falls on a Sunday which means lots of family time!  I never realized it until I pulled the Easter bin out of storage... apparently I'm obsessed with carrots.  Whatever, they're adorable. Here are a few things (mostly carrots) getting us in the Easter mood around here!

Baby's First Easter Basket

I can't even tell you the joy it brings me to be the Easter bunny for the first time.  Is that weird?  I've been looking forward to this ever since I found out (whispering now) he wasn't real.  After the crocodile tears, I realized how much fun it would be one day to make a perfect Easter basket for my children.

 I started with the basics.  

Basket, basket filler, and large easter eggs.

Let me just say, I'm not a fan of the big $10 Easter baskets.  It seems like a waste of money when you can only use them for Easter, they cost $10, and they either get thrown out or get broken before you can use them the next year.  I found this chicken wire basket for $12 at HomeGoods (and purchased two of them because they're adorable!) and I can use them in his room for storage after Easter.  So in my opinion, spend the extra $2-$5 and get some cute storage solutions for your nursery! The Land of Nod has some really cute baskets and bins here.

As far as the basket filler goes, make sure you throw it away or bag it up for next year as soon as baby is done seeing the basket.  I feel like it could easily become very dangerous if they get their little hands on it.

I bought the shiny easter eggs at Target.  They are fill-able but I left them empty because Cam isn't quite dextrous enough to know how to open them and he will love just staring at the pretty colors and shapes.  Make sure these are large easter eggs (large enough that if they came apart, neither of the ends could fit in baby's mouth).

Now the fun stuff!

• Soft bunny, of course!  Kolby thinks this is too girly but I don't care! He's my baby, not a grown man.  Of course he can have a soft bunny.  Haha!  Grown men can too, I won't judge...
• Sophie - Because she's one of the highest rated children's toys out there.  Can't pass that up!
• Bubbles for us to blow and for him to wonder at.
• Rattle
• Board books.  There are so many cute board books out there, these are just the beginning of a very large collection I would like the grow!
• His favorite pacifiers, of course.  Can't have too many of these on hand.
• Bow tie and bunny ears.  These are more for my own amusement (woops!) But really, how cute is he going to look in these?! Target dollar section does it again.
• Teething toys
• Stuffed animal - I made the mistake of showing him this monkey (he's obsessed with monkeys) before putting the basket together.  I just wanted to see what he thought!  Well, long story short, a huge smile came across his face and my heart melted and then broke because I felt bad taking it away!  So far it's still in the basket, not sure if it will last until Easter...

All of these items can be found at Target.  Easy peasy!
